A Career Without Vision

TD Jakes used an analogy about losing your way in Christ and it being ok, because as long as you were breathing, you can always find your way back.

He used the example of the GPS in a vehicle.

We have a vehicle. We have a destination. We have a roadmap/guide to help us get to the destination. Along the way, there are many bumps in the road, distractions, and things that we may allow to cause us to get pushed off course.

In the meantime, there is a GPS system in your vehicle that, no matter how far off track you have gone, you can always find you way back to the original destination.

That guidance is the Holy Spirit

John 16:13, “But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into ALL truth; for he will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.”

To get back to our destination, we must clearly define what the destination is. We must have a clear vision for where we want to go.

There have been many times running Sanctified Sound where I failed certain ventures and felt like I was losing the vision of the company. Those times, I had to look within myself, go back to the GPS to find the reason I began in the first place. I needed to go back to the original vision that God gave me.

Do you have a clear vision for your career? We in the business call it a Mission Statement

What is a Mission Statement?

A Statement that clearly defines who you are and what you intend to do with your career or business. In other words, putting words around your values create your Mission Statement.

Your Mission Statement defines why you exist and what you intend to do, it also explains what you will not do.

The Missions Statement serves to keep the organization on track and prevent it from getting involved in side opportunities that will keep it from reaching its original objectives.

Your Goal: Live Up To The Mission Every Day

Take some time. Pray and ask God to define where He wants you to go with your ministry/career. Then consult your GPS, the Holy Spirit, every day to make sure you are on the right track, headed for the destination you were created to arrive at.

No matter how far you get off, the GPS will always help you find your way back to your promise.
