Ok, hypothetical situation…
Let’s say that you come home one day after a hard day’s work. Park the car under the driveway. Get the groceries out of your car. You grab your keys to open the door to the kitchen door, and when you open it up…
You see that you have an infestation of Silverfish Bugs in your kitchen!
After you freak out and drop ALL your groceries, you gather yourself and try to figure out what to do.
The first option in your mind is that you call the exterminator, right? But which exterminator? For Your problem in Your house, you only want someone who knows exactly what they are doing, right?
So, you get on your phone to search and you see 2 website options:
#1: General Bug Doctor: Pretty good reputation of killing most forms of bug infestations, but will also do some contracting on the house as well, if you ask him to…
#2: Exterminator Extraordinaire that Specializes in killing and preventing Silverfish Bugs from entering your home or garden…
The choice is clear… #2
But why? He specializes in your particular problem, but not only that, he was advertised well on the internet on a centralized website that told you exactly what he did, and what his specialty was. It fit your needs exactly.
**Unknown to you, but there was another option as well. The very talented bug guy that didn’t have a website. He could solve your problem, but there was no way that you could find him because he had no form of internet promotional presence. **
Every day we see people dealing with many personal and spiritual infestations. As ministers, we see many conferences and organizations that are fulfilling specific needs in the community. Our job is to utilize our experience and skills to help the people that we are equipped to minister to.
The problem is that these organizations and individual people that need our help, can’t find us because we are the option that they don’t know about.
If we are to make a real difference in people’s lives, people must first know that there is help available that fits their specific needs, by showing people that we are an option that actually exists.
Enter: Your Website
(Facebook and Instagram are not Websites. Would you hire a professional to exterminate your house that only had a Facebook page?)
Because the 1st exterminator had a website, he was able to show people exactly who he was, what he specialized in, and a history of clients that he had helped in the past, so that he could make the greatest impact.
It is extremely important that you, as a minister, have a website, so that people, who are looking for you, respect what you do because you have taken the time to present yourself in a very professional way.
People and organizations will no longer look at you not as a charity, but a bonified professional ministry designed to fulfill specific needs for people and the community.
