More importantly, they provide advice and guidance to the artist, and handle contract negotiations and deals on their behalf. What Is The Payment Structure?
Some suggest that a manager should only be paid when their artist is; in this case, they would take a percentage of net revenues. Our model is different – our managers don’t take a commission or any rights and instead receive a fee for their consultancy. You’ll still get to benefit from your manager’s knowledge and expertise, without losing any rights or having the complexities of a management contract.
Sometimes artists work with a manager without a contract in place because of personal relationships, but it is important to have regardless of the relationship trust. Most contracts with an artist manager is around two to three years, However, it may be beneficial to include a periodic evaluation clause for status evaluation to check for progress and the status of the relationship, giving both parties the “out clause” option to end their agreement without any legal repercussions.
