A Winning Culture
When I was younger, I used to watch my mom a lot. I was baffled at why it always seemed that she got the best deals, the best parking spaces, her payments decreased from credit cards, payment companies giving her credits, free things coming into the house every week, etc. When I would try to do the same things I just saw her do, it would not work for me...For the life of me, I could not figure out what she was doing that had her always coming out on top...So, I asked her why? She said that she felt like she was supposed to have those things. She expected blessings to flow her way because she was God’s child. Now, we say those things, but my mom actually believed that she was owed victory in every area of her life.
Deuteronomy 28:13. The Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom. (NLT)
I could actually go many different ways with that story, but I want to bring it to you this way. There are a lot of artists that start their career with great expectations, but in their heart of hearts, they don’t actually believe that success will follow them. Frustration sets in, and suddenly they have created a culture of losing until one day they just give up and quit.
I observed my mom win and I also observed her losing, but this was the one thing that separated her from a lot of people I encounter. She always celebrated her small victories.
Are you celebrating every one of your accomplishments?
I know that we all like to celebrate the big, significant wins, but in celebrating every victory you have, you create, what I like to call, a winning culture. Your celebrations can be big or small, but always acknowledge your winnings. In that vein, you will start to see yourself winning a lot more, which will motivate you to keep going hard on your career. Yes, Learn from the loses, but don’t dwell on them past that point.
Philippians 4:8, One final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (NLT)
Proverbs 23:7, As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he...(KJV)
What we celebrate, becomes reality. Are you celebrating your failures by constantly focusing on them? Yes, use your failures to push you, but celebrate every success that you have. In that way, you start to create a winning culture that will overcome many more obstacles that come your way. God has delivered you, blessed you, and saved you. If he is the same yesterday, today, and forever more, what makes you think that he will never do it again?
But in celebrating those wins, you give glory to God and He will set you up for more success...thus creating a Winning Culture!!
1.Do you focus strictly on your mistakes and things you must get better at? Do you celebrate your small victories?
2.What do you think about the most in your spare time? Do you think about your career as a Christian Recording Artist?
3.Do you actually believe that God has this path as a part of His overall Master Plan in your life?
